Chopper Spirals Out of Control into Palm Groves at Well-Known Southern California Shoreline

A chopper flying near a crowded coastal beach abruptly started spinning out of control, eventually dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm groves as spectators watched.

Videos posted online show the helicopter commencing to spiral over Huntington Beach then falling towards the edge of the coast, where it gets stuck among palm trees and a staircase adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.

First Aid Details

Emergency responders reported five people were transported to a medical facility involving two who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” after the accident on that day.

Three persons on the street were injured. Information on their injuries were still under review.

What led to the incident was not yet disclosed.
