Christantus Uche Sparks Comfortable Crystal Palace Victory at Shelbourne.

Even though embarking on their first-ever continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing star players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable win that virtually secures them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.

A further three points in their upcoming fixture against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to secure straight entry to the last 16, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Seize the Moment

This occasion offered a chance for some of Palace's fringe talent to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, finding the net for the second game in match.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of comically weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

Following the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw several individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his very first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot strike off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.

The only worry for Palace was a late injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
